The Enneagram Isn't a Personality Quiz. It's a Leadership Strategy.
If you’ve heard of the Enneagram you may be thinking — “Oh yeah, I’m a Type __, same as every other personality test out there.” Or maybe you’ve never heard of it, but the word “assessment” already has you assuming it won’t tell you anything you don’t already know.
If either of those feels true, I’m glad you’re here. Keep reading. If you’re already a fan, then definitely keep reading to hear I have in store for you.
An invitation to hold a different perspective
Instead of seeing the Enneagram as a test result — which can feel confining — consider it a starting place. Like when you open Google Maps and it drops a blue dot on your current location. Your Enneagram type is simply the “you are here” on the map.
Your type doesn’t change. Think of it like the town where you grew your initial roots — it’s always home base. But just like in life, you travel well beyond where you started. Every place you live, or even visit, becomes part of who you are. That’s how this map works. It shows you who you are, where you came from, and where you can go to grow into your most integrated and authentic self.
Without a map you’re moving blindly — maybe even in circles, like the Griswolds driving past Big Ben for the third time (yes I’m an 80s fan :). In leadership, those circles are what I call the hidden layers: the patterns and beliefs operating below the surface, quietly driving everything you do.
